bringing it back…

It was not that I lost interest in futuring and creativity….  It was not that the last 8 years left me feeling like the American people deserve the future they unwittingly have been creating… It was not even that I was destitute and lost all my hosting.

No, none of those things.  It was a lost vision of the future. It was “life in the present, tense”. When you have a vision, and no one can see it… when you KNOW it can be better for everyone, and it seems like no one is listening… it can be rough.

But when all roads lead to Rome, does it matter which path you take? If the future is failed empire, does it really matter? When you realize that, in Alexei Panshin’s memorable phrase, “yesterday’s tomorrows” are all the images of the future people can muster, does it matter?

It was time to spin new yarns. Pull back the skeins and strings that lead out “there”, and let the future become as nebulous as it actually is.

Mayhap this time the vision won’t seem so trite. I can only hope.
